Pimp , you could be right as the game went on our running game may have worn the giants down. As for some of ya'll that say we didn't try deep passes. I think our major objective was to get some quality work for our backs and starting line in the new zbs. Deep passes will come . once our run game is respected in the regular season. Besides our 2nd unit didn't exactly give our qbs a lot of time to throw deep. ( Our starting line looks to need some more reps in pass protection as well )
All in all our special teams started off rocky. But I really hope once key positions are filled on special teams , our new st coach will turn this ship around.
Our starters did leave some plays on the table. But It was only 2 series . I like our chances with them playing a complete game. I say so far so good . #1 goal of the first preseason game was getting work in the zbs and getting game time evaluations of our young players battling for roster spots.

I am getting a sense he is. Now the question is whether it's a bad or good thing. I am not sure Tomlin is up to handle all the elements. I think he would be slow to fire bad coaches, etc. Hell, he took forever and a day to do ANYTHING about Wallace and Mendenhall being malcontents last year and when he did react it was a day late and a dollar short. Remember when he listed Wallace as a "co-starter?" What brutality!

Imagine our running game when we get Bell back there. I think Pgh will end up at least a top 15 offense. We got gobs of good, young WRs, franchise QB. I just hope Haley doesn't OD on too many bubble passes. Seriously.

Hopefully bubble screens will be aborted all together lol. But seriously I believe Haley will use an effective running game and short passes to open up the deeper stuff. Our line is still questionable in pass protection. An effective running game and shorter throws will slow down the pass rush. That should open up some deeper pass plays and hopefully give our guys some confidence to pass protect .

As for Bell ,he does have me more excited than a dirty ole man at a strip club . I think it really says something that coach T didn't play him. He is considered a prime contributor already in Tomlins eyes. If that's a regular season game he plays no doubt. Im sure they want to give him some touches in game time situations to boost his confidence and give him a feel for the Nfl game. But why risk it 1st preseason game with some swelling on his knee. If the knee is ready he will get a butt load of touches next game. I would fully expect a lot more zbs work for our backs and line. Establishing an effective running game is the primary objective to not only win games and stay balanced offensively but it will as I said before allow haley to utilize more of the playbook that perhaps we felt uncomfortable using due to the floodgates opening and Ben being swallowed up on numerous occasions.

I don't feel I am getting bashed at all, other than VIS, who had to make his combative little comment towards me, making fun of me for re-watching some of the game. But asked what he watched last night instead, he is too embarrassed to admit whatever it was, as I am sure it is more pathetic than re-watching some of the game, late night, while applying the fast forward button when appropriate. I guess he now realizes that watching "Real Housewives of NJ" is a far more pathetic a thing to watch.

Ripping someone, telling them they have no life, just because they re-watch some of the last game late night viewing is kind of a dick move, especially since we have been without any Steeler football for 8 months. What amazing stuff did you watch on TV last night, again? Or did you curl up with the novel, "The Faerie Queene" by E. Spenser?
