Default Every division rival formidable.

Yes, I believe every team in our div. is going to be solid, if not a threat. I don't see a single cake walk among them. Not one. And, with this team not even posting a winning season last year, should _any_ team be considered a cake walk? I don't think so. Not when you lose to the likes of SD, TN, CLE and Oak.

But even if the Steelers bounce back - as I believe they will - they don't have a single div. foe who won't provide a challenge.

Ravens - A lot of people assume they lost too many key players to remain a contender. Many point out that they needed heaps of luck to win a ring to begin with: the 4th and 29 they didn't really make in SD; the crazy bomb in Denver to tie the game with 40 seconds left; the non-call vs. SF in the Super Bowl. Say what you will, but in this day of parity, you can probably call the champs "lucky" every year. Could you not say the same thing about our last two SB?

Any yes, they have lost a lot of good talent. No Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Boldin, Kruger, Ellerbe, et al. But they still do have Marshal Yanda, Ray Rice, Torrey Smith, Joe Flacco, Terrell Suggs, Haloti Ngata, Lardarius Webb, Courtney Upshaw and Jimmy Smith. And a real good head coach. They also added Dumerville, who is an elite pass rusher. I don't see the Ravens repeating as champs, but that doesn't mean they won't give Pgh a tough time. I see them still being a thorn in our side.

Bengals - A lot of people point to them being "one and done" in the play offs the last two years. But they were good enough to beat us when we needed the win to make the play offs, and we were FAIL. And not only have they been decent the last two years, but they are now poised to take that next step. They are actually stacked. They have a legit star in AJ Green at WR. Dalton is a solid and improving young QB. Green-Ellis is solid at RB and they added a huge play potential in Bernard at the position.

On D they are stacked. They have the best DT in the entire league in Atkins. How many DTs have double digit sack #s? They have a good NT in Peko. They got Harrison and Burfict at LB. And a secondary with great depth. They were already a good D last year; now they appear to be on their way to elite.

Browns - Don't laugh. They have finally assembled a lot of talent and are no longer a joke of an organization. They may not have a great QB, but they have almost everything else. The Browns are going to win games this year. They have a defense stacked with all kinds of young talent, a stud at RB and some nice WRs who will come into their own this year. And they finally have a coaching staff that is formidable. You can see it in their preseason play this year: They are playing with passion and great effort. It is a different team than we have been used to.

I think Pgh will be a greatly improved team, much from the team having a good chemistry and being ticked off over a pathetic season last year. They will also be better because they got rid of the bad apples that dragged the whole team down, in Wallace and Mendenhall. Those bums are gone. But make no mistake: They will need to be much improved, as every div. foe is not to be taken lightly. We have been spoiled around here for years, with having only one div. rival that we had to worry about. That is no longer the case. All 3 can beat us on any day. After the NFC West, this might be the toughest div. in the NFL.

the browns defense is tougher than the ravens, and has been for a couple years now. they just haven't gotten it together on offense, but if they do, they'll be a playoff caliber team. of course that's if.

bengals are on the rise, i don't think anyone can doubt. ravens are always a tough matchup as well.

Yep, everbody is going to need to step up and have their best or near best years.

It's a rough division for sure. No easy games.

Sounds like the Black and Gold will be in the Black and Blue division this year.

I would love for the Rats to finish last in the division this year. Sorry JonM !

I am not personally sold on the Browns yet. Every year, they are picked to 'turn the corner" and start playing to their potential-- and every year, they finish sub-.500.

I will believe that one when I see it on the field consistently.

that's at least one thing i have in common with Browns fans, I expect them to get better each year.

I seriously think all of our rivals will have strong years this year, but chances are one of the teams is going to have a bad year. There are just so many things that can go wrong that will make it hard to predict which team will be a winner and which won't.

It's a competitive league and little mistakes here and there will make a difference.

Is it bad that I hate the rats more than the Clowns now ? Is it that the rats have been battling us neck and neck for the last decade ? Or is it I sympathize with my friends in the ne ohio area about their pathetic existence since coming back ? Or is it both ? :D
